Deja Vu written by Monique O'Connor James is the sequel to Jamais Vu which I had the pleasure of reading a while back and I LOVED it. I'll admit that I was a little nervous to read this one because, well, 9 times out of 10 sequels suck and truth be told I loved the way the first one ended. I would have been happy if the author had never written another word about it. Anyway it turns out that I had absolutely nothing to be concerned about. Deja Vu (like the first one) is one of the best books that I have ever read.
Beginning the book the author effortlessly adds a recap that fits in perfectly and I like when authors can do that without being obvious. From the first page I was instantly hooked and I had the chance to fall in love/hate with the characters all over again. If Monique O'Connor James is good at one thing its creating characters that you will always remember. That and throwing a curve ball that you didn't see coming with every turn of the page. I literally devoured this book and had to force myself to put it down for some other obligation. The book kept me on my toes and kept me guessing. If I thought the ending of the last book was amazing, well lets just say that I'm glad that it didn't end there. Mind Blown.
But aside from all that what I loved was the message. That everyone deserves a second chance but its what you do with that chance that matters. You cant save everyone, sometimes they have to save themselves and sometimes they don't.
5 Ravens.
