"PARADIGMS" BY CHRIS MCKENNA (REVIEW BY SUE MAHONEY)
This brief introduction into ancient tales it is a combination of spirituality, fiction and fantasy concepts. It is a short novella with Scottish language and translated into English written words. It is fairy tales of the mythical creatures the clan of Ireland and Scotland were raised upon as bed-time stories. It was stimulating to read the Scotch version; and see the spelling of the words; imagining hearing the words being voiced from an elderly grandparent sharing the century old tales with their grandchildren.
The plot was riveting as each story explore a fantasy world and teleporting the words into a moral statement about looking beyond your own reality and fancy yourself in a fantasy world of fairies, gnomes and other magical creatures to explore and read what is between the lines for there are messages and lessons to be explore in all cultures. It is an exploration of beliefs and how all should not judge another unless they are in that's person's shoes.
As a reviewer stated on Amazon this plot has been well thought out and the characters are believable and aptly suited in the roles that they play. Some characters were adorable, other fearful and others adapted to their roles and explain their behaviors as asking to be accept as is and learn from their actions; It was a refreshing break from preaching about how people should treat others, a delightful tale of entertainment and education. A good book to share with others and have discussions about what if the world crumbles in disaster and what should be added or disregarded in a new society. To not abandon the old ways and cherish literature and knowledge for you do not know when it will come in handy.
