Following the loss of he parents, Sparkle finds herself living with her aunt. Unlike the life she had shared with her family, life with her aunt is one of silence, one without music. Sparkle learns that her aunt sopped listening to music when she lost her sister, Sparkle’s mother. With the help of the enchanted instruments of the forest, Sparkle is able to bring music back into her aunt’s life again.
The story deals with loss, (death) and being allowed to find joy again. This is a good read for young readers. The images are colourful and interesting; they will certainly please young readers.
