Title: Rosi's Castle Author: Edward Eaton Publisher: Dragonfly Publishing Recommended Age: 16+ Reviewed By: Maegan Morin Blog Reviewed For: Great Minds Think Aloud Rating: 3 Ravens
Rosi's Castle written by Edward Eaton is book 1 in the Rosi's Doors series. Upon losing her father Rosi is sent to live with her Uncle Richard in his creepy castle on the New England coast. After a terrifying car ride up to the castle Rosi is met with more of the strange and unexplained in the place where she's to live. Unusual things continue to happen leaving Rosi to wonder if there's something more she's expected to do. I thought this book was just ok. It definitely has an original concept but I just couldn't get into it and felt that it could have been done better. There were a lot of things that I found confusing and at the very end of the book was left with more questions and very few answers. Now I realize that this is the first book in the series but the ending left me feeling indifferent and uncaring whether it continued or not. I will say the book is written well and the world that the author creates was very imaginative. But when Rosi crosses over to the "alternate world" I was so confused. I had no idea what was going on and found it weird (for lack of a better term). Overall I don't think that I would read anymore of this series unless I had absolutely nothing else to read. However someone else may really like this book. These are just my thoughts. 3 Ravens
