;DBack again with a review on the graphic novels written by Bryan Lee O'Malley. Novels that I fell in love with for their pop culture influences and references back to the days of my childhood things that at one time brought me a lot of pleasure and fun memories. From music, games to just childhood memories of witty banter with my sister. There is even a guy that reminds me of my current best friend Mike found in Scott's best friend and roommate Wallace Wells. These graphic novels are so much fun and just general hilarity they became a night staple in my daughters bedtime stories. A big fan so much so she bugs me even now to be Envy Adams for halloween this year. God save me when I have to put that costume together. Six books in all and worth every penny. The story kicks off much like the movie where he is yes dating a high schooler and his friends are giving him much grief and jokes over it due to the fact he's to old. It carries on to him meeting Ramona a girl he instantly falls in love with but later finds out that he must physically fight all seven of her evil ex's in order to win her heart and remain dating her there are crazy antics and turmoil to follow during all of this. It was unfortunate that the movie did not receive as much hype as it should have but then again it was released during the time of the expendables. Instantly however it has found a place in my cult classics to be watched and loved forever. The books already have a place on my shelves and one in my heart. Please take the time to know them and love them as I do.
