SCOTT NIVEN'S "SUNSET LAVAFLIES" (A REVIEW)Three timeless, original, and nostalgic tales of wonder. That is how I would describe this collection to other readers. The first story shows what can happen when faith takes a backseat and technology is allowed to run things. It's a sad situation in which what could happen is never allowed to be known. The second story reminds one of a folk tale, something straight out of an old book found in some dusty library or used book store. The final story is one that lifts your heart and makes you feel the 'wonder' of the magic that can be found if one only has the patience to wait for it.
With regards to the writer and the intent not to give away too much this is as far as I'll go with the narrative. You'll simply have to read this collection of short stories to get the full affect.
Scott Niven is a masterful writer, able to weave colorful stories that spark the imagination to full fruition. I look forward to reading more of his work in the near future. Please read this book, you won't regret it!
