"New Girl" was a story of a new girl at a new school called Manderley Academy. How did she get there? After trying over a period of time her application was finally accepted to her surprise for her Senior Year. Did she really want to go now?
Unknown to the new girl at that time the reason she was accepted at the Manderley Academy was due to the fact the a former student (Becca Normandy) had become missing at the end of the last school year and now there was a opening for the new girl. What had happened to Becca ?
The new girl was not accepted by Dana her roommate because she thought the new girl was trying to take her friend, Becca's place. Dana was sure that Becca would be returning to school. Again what had happened to Becca?
It get very interesting how the author Paige Harbison put it all together ..... with characters like Dana, Max, Johnny, Julia, and Susan with each one presenting a good front for their dear friend Becca.
In the end one finds out how one is able to grow up even when things are put into our lives that we do not understand. .The new girl was able to grow and really feel good about the decisions that she had made toward her college future, her former friends at home and we find out really happened to Becca Normandy.
I found the story "New Girl" very quick, easy and interesting read for any young adult.
