"BEYOND THE FOREST" BY KATE TENBETHAnother beautiful story about Grum and Burly, this is actually the beginning of their friendship. When Grum is tossed out of Groblin territory by his mom and two brothers he is told to prove himself a true Groblin. He soon finds Burly and strikes a friendship that is meant to last forever.
When reading Kate's books I'd suggest reading this one first, it is a magical tell of an unlikely friendship and starts the process of Grum and Burly's adventures together. Once again, wonderfully written, and illustrated this is a book that kids will thoroughly enjoy.

This story was I have to think my favorite over them both, it's the touching story of how Burly and Grum came to be and how that through adversity some of the greatest things in our life are achieved and even the greatest friendships. It's full of fun and adventure with the excitement of wonder. It helped to keep my daughter egging me on to read more and she even got a little pushy and refused to let me stop reading till it was done. Which quickly followed to asking for the follow up of reading the second book. Most of all it worked to help calm her down and get her to relax and listen and want to try to read some herself.
Illustrations are great, The story is well written and plays to the childs mind and sense of adventure. All in all I suggest this to anyone wanting a good read for their younger children.
