First I will start by saying sorry that the pictures are so big, I will see if I can get them smaller but, my computer is not wanting to work with me for the time.
The books when I first found them, was something that I did not honestly expect to find at the Emerald city Comicon. Why? Cause just the simple fact it was a comicon there for for my much loved favorites of the graphic novels. The Walking Dead, Hack/Slash and Scott Pilgrim. Things that I could ramble on for hours about. To find an actual author that has taken his Fictional based books and comically moved into the graphic novels was a pleasure.
This review is about his second book World War Z which I am currently in the process of reading for a second time. As always something you find good you never fail in finding something that you missed the second time through. It reads as a journalist/ writers account of going through the post zombie apocalyptic time the actual accounts of survivors and what almost brought about the fall of man. Based upon the fictional disease Solanum that Brooks uses in his first book The Zombie Survival guide. It give a view into the mind and mentality of man. Slightly scary to think that some of these actions are close to what would really happen in times of such a disaster. It's a page turner to keep up and read to know that no you shouldn't have the long hair, or think foolishly that you are ever out of harms risk no matter what steps, precautions or actions you have taken.
The Zombie Survival Guide is written as a handbook. Reminding my husband and myself of some of his own handbooks from the army. Steps precautions, weapon options , pros and cons. It keeps you chuckling with its witty sarcasm and blatant common sense. But for those that can not read such it may not be your cup of tea.
Last but not least is the graphic novel edition of The Zombie Survival Guides recorded attacks. Brilliantly illustrated and carefully planned with it's writing it will keep you turning the page to see more and actually at times make you wonder if the stories aren't just a little real.
You will find if and when you read these books that they are humorous as well as insightful. A brilliant piece of work from a very vivid imagination.
