To be honest I can't write a better intro than the one on Goodreads so here it is:
A gunshot echoes thrusting Darby Lambert into a near death experience. Inside the confines of an ambulance, she meets “the man in white light”. He takes away the guilt, but makes her question everything.
“You will see them,” he whispers, as he catapults her back into the real world where she is plagued with dreams of demons, nurses, and rock stars.
Why has He sent her back? Does she have the courage to rectify her sins? Given the chance, could you erase it all?
Written by Monique O'Connor James, Jamais Vu is an amazing novel. The story line, the characters, everything just blew me away. The story is paranormal but its not just that. This is a story about being human, being flawed and being in love. Its about finding the courage to do whats right and how it is so hard to do that. The main theme of the book is that despite how someone may look, not everyone is all good but not everyone is all bad either and everyone deserves a second chance. I loved that the characters were not perfect (not even close) and it was easy to relate to all of them. After something so tragic its hard to decipher what is real and what isn't and Darby finds herself caught up in who she is now and the person she was before the accident. I like that the book wasn't all "butterflies and roses" it was just so real. I will tell you that if you like the typical mindless paranormal YA books where everything is perfect and it requires little to no thinking then this book is probably not for you. I like the fact that when I finished reading it I sat back and thought about it. The author left a lot of for you to contemplate and I find that so rare. I really loved it. The ending was perfect. I cried, I had chills and I was scared all at the same time. Then there were more tears...
I recommend this book for readers 16+. There is no sex and mild violence but there are some dark parts. I give this book 5 Ravens but to be completely honest I would give it 10 if I could. This was the kind of book that made me forget pretty much every other book that I have read in the past month. I loved it so much and can't wait to read the rest of her books. I would recommend it to everyone (and I have).
