Have you ever had that memory of your childhood where you had sleepovers, Little fire pits in the back yard where you and friends sat on a summer night roasting marshmellows making smore's and just generally being a kid? The stories to try and scare one another even having another friend go around to the other side of the tent, or woods, or just sneak up behind other friends while you told the stories and scared them? This is that kind of collection. The book was a wonderful read the stories were short made their point and on a few of them you either laugh, cried, or wanted to scream. I loved the way the author didn't give to much detail and didn't let up with each selection that I passed there was something a little more enjoyable about it. Giving me those little childhood memories that to often than not we forget. I suggest for those that haven't read this book to pick it up. It's filled with wonderful little clips and some of them will definately make you come back and read it again and again perhaps even share a few of them around a campfire somewhere with your friends and family. I know I did.

This was a wonderful story, Filled with Adventure, adversity and love. It pulled on all the strings of drama and filled one with the need to turn the page and try to keep up with all that was going on with Mouse and Orlean as well as their friends and enemies. You want to cheer when Mouse finally starts standing up for herself against Bryant the rather selfish and egotistical guy she was in love with and used her to try and only gain more for himself.
You find a fatherly figure in almost all her companions save for the draw and love that grows between her and Orlean. The confusion and the hope that she has not bewitched him. Especially when she finds out that not only is she Faerie but she's the Queen and long lost daughter to royals. The story unfolds and you grow with the characters as they struggle through their journy to defeat, live, laugh, and love in a new era of time.

A nice young adult Science fiction novel. About two teens who loose their mother in an accident that occurs on the space station where they grow up. Leaving them with no choice but to move to Grass Valley another space station more up to date and larger than they have ever seen, It's like having earth floating about in space. Here they find it hard to settle into the new surroundings especially as the Martian war breaks out . They see their prior home destroyed and then suffer through and deal with the war that rips apart the new home. During this time they have yet to meet up and reunite with their father. Going on a journey to find him and to understand what is happening. All the while Seth has to deal with his sister Jenna and the risk she runs of her implant lungs stop working and it becomes harder to breathe. Accompanied by their fathers Robot Anne (Annie as she is often called by Seth) They watch their world changing around them. Ava is the daughter of the resistance leader known as the hidden flower of Mars she is struggling in her own journey on this space station trying to keep herself alive and out of the enemies hands. The only problem is she isn't sure anymore which ones are the enemies and often feels she's better off left alone. The only problem. No one wants to leave her alone. It's a fast pace story and well written it doesn't or didn't snag me and keep me gripped but I'm a very picky science fiction reader so I say give it a go you may like it more so than I did.

I loved this book, The writing pulled me in immediately as I got to know Toby/Bailey/Ellie etc etc. each life of the dog was more compelling than the next and the way he retained information almost had me thinking that it really does happen this way and remind me of one of my very best friends the first dog my husband and I had when we were together. I miss her now more than ever. The author really seems to sync in with what he is writing and pull the reader in. A book that has won the place in my heart and on my shelf forever more. I urge others to pick it up and read it. I don't think you will be let down. There is joy, sadness, drama , happiness, thrills and chills even in this book. Leaving you reading sedated after you have finished the last page. I know I do not feel let down in the least bit.

The story started out with a strong lead into the mystery however, it did have it's flaws as it started to roll along, the characters were pretty typical from some of the other books I have read with the twist being that they were not vampires, or werewolves. I'm pleased however that it did not fall hopelessly into a complete love story as I had so feared when I started reading this and focusing only on that aspect. It did stick to it's guns and move forward with Meliara becoming consumed not only with her quest but much like some heroines out for the good of everyone not just the core of the story. She wanted to save everyone and there are times she realizes that she can not. Though it was fast paced and I believe to have made it a more intriguing story would have been to slow it down and add more detail a little more drama besides getting herself into trouble and kidnapped at every turn and plan she tried to move. It became a little rigorous of her either having to be saved or saving herself at times that some of the feeling was lost. Though it's a decent read and I think the author did well I just expected a little more. The Angel idea is a unique twist on things I do give her that but I'm iffy about more.

This story was I have to think my favorite over them both, it's the touching story of how Burly and Grum came to be and how that through adversity some of the greatest things in our life are achieved and even the greatest friendships. It's full of fun and adventure with the excitement of wonder. It helped to keep my daughter egging me on to read more and she even got a little pushy and refused to let me stop reading till it was done. Which quickly followed to asking for the follow up of reading the second book. Most of all it worked to help calm her down and get her to relax and listen and want to try to read some herself.
Illustrations are great, The story is well written and plays to the childs mind and sense of adventure. All in all I suggest this to anyone wanting a good read for their younger children.

A very good book for the young ones. I know my daughter was infatuated from the moment she saw Burly and Grum, Even taking her teddy bear and holding on tight to it through the whole book, which was a great thing for her as of late. Her attention span through chaptered books was starting to wan, I'm proud to say that she got a renewed strength The pictures helped a little too.
The story is cute and compelling of a boy, his bear and his groblin. They are always in adventure and constantly in trouble like children often are. With the bear being more of the wise old father figure that tries to keep them both on track.
The morals are amazing and something my daughter caught on to quickly. The mixture of thrills, comedy and adventure kept her enthralled and had my daughter begging for more, If anything I am glad to say that it's renewed her love of the chapter books and having mommy breathlessly reading them to her constantly a habit. I have to thank the author for giving us a wonderful story and wonderful characters to which I wish I had my own Burly or Grum to hug and have at night.

As always I love George R.R. Martin's work but I also miss seeing the stories of the other ones, I know all the players have grown and it's become a bit of lengthy process to keep all of them in one book so they have been split up but I still miss knowing what's going on with Arya , Sansa and Brienne I can't wait for the next book as I'm certain we will get to know what's going on with those but I still miss them. Now that I have gotten that little rant out of the way I have to say that I enjoyed this book completely it was a lengthy process and time to read but that does not depreciate the value, The plot thickens and things get even more complex as more players are added to the game of thrones. I look forward to when we get to see the outcome of it all and can't wait for more.

Started this book with the intention that it would be another few fun tales of scarey ghost stories. I was wrong. They are scarey but some of them are just as the title says disturbing. The writer has a way about them that makes you think "god I'd hate for that to be me." with the twists and turns in the stories each one has a special click that actually makes you fear the unknown in a little way. Some of them are sad others of them leave you with the "What in the world!?" feeling. Making for a good read. I wish there were a little more and some of the stories I wish had a bit more of an ending but all in all it does not leave you feeling like you wasted your time. It's definately a book for reading and enjoying and even inspiring one to maybe make up their own little horror story. Wonderful book and good author. Looking forward to more.

First let me say sorry that it's taken me so long however, My reading of the book was impeded upon by my husband finding a liking for this book and stealing it every chance he got to read it even while I was trying to read it. He has a bit of a habit of being impatient when he likes something needless to say I found myself reading the same chapter several times in the hopes of finding my lost place. This did not however make me regret reading the book at all actually it allowed me a greater gift to make sure that I had fully read the book to it's greatest extent and insured that I was not missing out on anything. So without further digression let me proceed with this review. The Prince of Bryanae was actually a very well thought planned and written book with enough back story and enough depth to each of the characters to actually leave the ending and a lot of what happens in the book a surprise but still giving you that feeling that what you think and what you know are two different things. There are places where you have been given the answer to the coming events and even though it has been staring you in the face the whole time it's a pleasant surprise to see that you have completely been misdirected to the point you never saw it coming. There wasn't a feeling of been there done that with this book as it's hard to find fantasy novels that don't have a little bit of something else. At the same time it's a great joy to find another writer that makes me think of R.A Salvatore and for those that love those Dungeon and Dragon novels I suggest you pick up this book you will not be disappointed I know I was not. I Look forward to further seeing what this author has to offer in future books.

Having won one of my first child books for review off of librarything I was overly excited to share this with my six year old. She drives me crazy every day for a story or a new story and I have been finding it harder and harder to find things she likes. But this story was cute and funny and just adorable it kept her captivated with the images and the flow of words and at the end she was right there trying to take my kindle and read the story again this time she said. "It's my turn to read to you Mommy" Which is always something I want to hear from her. A great read for small kids .

This story is a twist on the old classic. The princess is the frog who is turned human and the reason behind it is outright heroic, She is sent to find what is happening to the fathers, mothers , daughters , sons and even her own father the king. While she's searching for a way to find and help them she is clonked on the head by Jack's Sister Gwendolyn's crown making her have amnesia about who and what she is. They go through this whole story thinking she is a princess who was cursed into being a frog but when it turns around in the end and in a cute way it's really she's a frog who was turned into a human princess. The story is great and one that kept my daughter in rapt attention for the whole read. Which is saying something with a rambunctious six year old like mine. Although now she's in a hurry to get outside and find herself a frog! as she thinks she will have a new best friend. It's delightful funny and out right one of the best little renditions of this age old classic tale. Thank you Debi for allowing me this wonderful and exciting read for the family.

This series was a little familiar as I started to read it. As some names and things came about like I had read them before I soon found that when I turned to my bookshelf and pulled out one of my novels by Sherilynn Kenyon I knew why. It is A LOT like the dark hunter series written by Sherrilyn Kenyon. This kind of disappointed me as I like for something new to be done and this is really alot of the same old. But if you like that then I suggest you read them other than that I can't really say much about the series good. It's a little of the same old same old.

A very nice change of pace in most fantasy novels, Instead of having to keep your mind straight in everything and everyone you actually get to focus on the main character and really learn to grow and love her. It's fast paced and really page turning even the ending through me for a loop and in a way I find myself hoping that there will be more to it later perhaps a sequel? One can only imagine what that might intell though as to the story and what more could go on. There are alot of open spaces and trails that one could follow. My only complaint is that it was a quick read and I wished there had been more. I still want more.
